Books Shadows and Rusty

SON AND I DONATED THREE BOXES OF BOOKS TO THE ANNUAL LIONS CLUB BOOK FAIR THIS MORNING.

BEFORE WE LEFT TO DELIVER THEM, I SNAPPED THIS PHOTO OF SHADOWS BEING CREATED BY THE MORNING SUN STREAMING INTO OUR KITCHEN.

THEN IT WAS OFF TO VISIT RUSTY – AND HIS HUMANS TOO, OF COURSE!

BEING THE FIRST OF MAY, TODAY IS THE START OF THE LAST MONTH OF AUTUMN.

MY HEADER PHOTO THIS MONTH IS OF THE WHARF AT OMOKOROA IN THE BAY OF PLENTY.  THE PHOTO WAS TAKEN IN 2011 BUT NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED HERE SINCE THEN.

HAVE A HAPPY DAY,

MARGARET xx

    1. Thanks Maxine. I love the different patterns you often see with the play of light and shade :)

    2. Sometimes the morning shadows are so pretty – I love that one, and cute Rusty’s face! I’ve been donating books too there’s a friends of the library shop not far from here and they’ll take books, DVDs, CDs. It’s nice to pass along things.

  2. I enjoy your photos.
The Lions book fair reminder me of their book fair in Te Puke, in my youth. I loved the great selection. There was something for everyone

    1. I have a weakness for book fairs and try to go to most of them (the trick is not buying anything LOL)

    1. These boxes had been sitting ready to go for a couple of months now, so you are not alone :)

  5. That is a cool shadow shot. When we moved here last year, I got rid of a ton of books.

    1. Are you like me? I can find it quite difficult sometimes to let books go.

  6. I love your new header. As for book fairs - are they common about NZ? There was a big one every year in Dunedin to raise funds to maintain a very old theatre on the Octagon. I loved that book sale - it was open 24 hours and I spent nearly the whole 24 hours there each year.

    1. Both the Lions and Rotary Clubs have regular book fairs here in Hamilton, and occasionally you will get the odd other one, so I guess they are fairly common around the place.

  7. That's alot of books but I do live a good book fair, we use to go to them alot when we lived in Mangawhai. These days I don't get much time to read anymore.

    1. I often struggle to find time to read. But when I do want something to read, I like to have plenty of choice on hand. The trouble is they are inclined to accumulate :)

  9. I'm trying to reduce the number of books I own but it's slow going. Good for you donating 2 boxes!
Pretty shadows. We actually had sunshine right from the morning, no fog, so nice shadows here too.
