THE SUN SHONE FOR PART OF THE MORNING (SO WE WERE ABLE TO AIR THE HOUSE OUT), BUT THEN IT CAME IN COLD AND CLOUDY AGAIN.
I WARMED UP AT LUNCHTIME WITH SOME BARLEY SOUP, LEFT OVER FROM DINNER LAST NIGHT.
I'VE BEEN DOING A BIT OF SKETCHING AGAIN, JUST FOR FUN.
AT LEAST YOU CAN TELL THEY ARE MUSHROOMS!
IT'S FRIDAY EVENING NOW AND I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO SITTING BY THE FIRE AND WATCHING SOME RUGBY.
BUT I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE DINNER FIRST!
MARGARET xx
Hi Margaret, it was definitely a day for hibernating today, so wet and getting colder here in Auckland. I envy you your fire to cuddle up in front of to keep warm. We have heat-pumps here which do keep us warm, but they don't provide the same atmosphere. It is great that you are sketching again. I haven't drawn or coloured-in for such a long time, but it is a skill that you will always have. Hugs, Rose x
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about heat-pumps - there is nothing to replace a fire for coziness :)
DeleteYour mushroom drawing is excellent - I'm so envious of people who put pencil to paper and turn out something good.
ReplyDeleteThankyou Sue. I love sketching things but seldom take time out to do so.
DeleteYour sketch is wonderful! I dont have much talent but keep telling myself to.try.
ReplyDeleteIt is meant to be a great "brain exercise" and who cares what it looks like? I keep telling myself just to do it, but somehow I too often find other things to do :)
DeleteThat is an exceedingly fine sketch and the shadows lift it all off the page. I wish I could handle colour like that. Barley soup (nice) - we have been making barley risotto lately (orzotto) and have decided we prefer the texture of it to the rice version.
ReplyDeleteI've not tried making risotto with barley - might have to look for a recipe and give it a go :)
DeleteIt is another chilly day with some showers. I'm waiting for warm sunshine but am afraid once it arrives we'll go right into HOT temperatures.
ReplyDeleteYour sketch of mushrooms is really good!
Thanks Granny M :)
Deletebeautiful sketch. I tend to have soup all year except summer....... ;ove it
