THIS MORNING WE HAD OUR FIRST PROPER FROST FOR THE SEASON.
I LOVE HOW CRUNCHY THE GRASS GETS.
AN EARLY MORNING FIRE WAS MOST WELCOME
THANKFULLY, THE COLD MORNING WAS FOLLOWED BY A GORGEOUS DAY.
ISN'T THIS LITTLE HEARTSEASE PANSY SWEET?
CHEERS,
MARGARET xx
You had your first frost and today and yesterday we had our first days with temperatures in the high 20's.
ReplyDeleteI love Pansies and their tiny cousins the violas which I know as Johnny-Jump_ups. They have self-seeded themselves in so many places and unlike some other vigorous self-seeders are very welcome.
I'd be quite happy to have my garden full of them :)
DeleteNo frost here yet but chilly in the morning.
ReplyDeleteMust be one of the advantages of living in Northland, Susan :)
DeleteI used to love the crunch of frost and my footprints in the lawn. Lovely to see your photos
ReplyDeleteCrunching in frost is a bit like kicking through autumn leaves. A touch of childish, maybe, but always lots of fun! :)
DeleteLove frosty mornings. Especially if the fire is roaring inside
ReplyDeleteI find that just looking at a fire makes you feel warmer :)
DeleteDefinitely another frost again here today, and also forecast for tomorrow - I did not venture out onto the grass - just looking at it outside my bedroom was as close as I wanted to get to it! I well remember crunching through it to the clothes line in years past.
ReplyDeleteAnother great selection of photos, Margaret
Blessings
Maxine
I can remember hard frosts from when we lived around Matamata and Tokoroa. Hamilton doesn't seem to get those. Stay warm, Maxine :)
DeleteSat by the fire on a frosty morning is a great way to start the day!
ReplyDeleteIt feels very luxurious!
DeleteThere is beauty even in frost. Great morning for a fire though!
ReplyDeleteVery true, Jim. I have taken some amazing photos over the years of things that have frost on them :)
DeleteAhhhh - perfect!
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteI would live sitting by your fire! And love that little pansy.
ReplyDeleteI love the little ones, they have such cute faces :)
DeleteNow we have beautiful spring and everything gets green, each day we see some new flowers in the woods. It is fascinating about the differens! Happy autumn!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marit. Enjoy your beautiful spring :)
DeleteMy granddaughter in PN commented on the frost too. She said her 2 year old wouldn't get out of bed, 😄
ReplyDeleteWell, you know, bed is nice and warm LOL
