I enjoyed the Quarter Pounder burger but never finished the chips and orange fizz.
The weather was overcast, so the Lake wasn't looking its most attractive.
Parking at the hospital and in the nearby CBD are both being pushed to the limit.
I noticed a lot of vehicles parked by the Lake - areas that are normally next to empty. I imagine it would only be a 10 to 15 minute walk from the Lake to a workplace.
I came home for a cup of tea (nothing beats a lovely hot cup of tea), and curled up for the afternoon with a book.

Lovely lake. I have never eaten Mackers. I took against them when in my teens they opened a joint in Rotorua and put our favorite local burger and fast food place out of business; and I can carry a grudge for life. (Truth is I prefer pies to burgers and haven't eaten any variety of burger since I tested them in my teens.)
ReplyDeleteI like the pickles in Quater Pounder
ReplyDeleteThere is a faint hint of green in the trees. The green glow isn’t far away!
ReplyDeleteYes, a hot cup of tea is always best after being out. Macca's are not my thing either, but we used to enjoy one with the grandkids when out with them which was quite a few years ago now. We are going on a cruise to NZ soon so will be enjoying seeing some of your beautiful country.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to really enjoy your cruise :)
DeleteI wish I could have met you there fir lunch! What book are you reading?
ReplyDeleteI read 'The Blue Castle' by LM Montgomery (who authored 'Anne of Green Gables'). I have read it many times before but always enjoy it when I want to just blob out for a while :)
DeleteLunch by the lake. Sounds just what I would enjoy. Though I don't eat Macs either. Greece has its own chains
ReplyDeleteYour days sounds perfect. Lunch by the lake and an easy relaxing afternoon.💗💗💗💗💗

ReplyDeleteMargaret that sounds like a perfect day! Sometimes we all need some fast food from McDonald’s - and to sit by the beautiful lake looks so very relaxing. You read my mind, ending the day with a cup of hot tea and a good book is my idea of heaven - good for you !
We hadn’t had maccas for years. The grandchildren were here last week and we had it for lunch.
ReplyDeleteOh my. I remembered why I don’t have it. It gives me a horrible tummy and makes me feel sick.
The lake does look lovely
I only ever eat Maccas if I'm with the grandchildren and I think last time it was KFC. Im not really a fast food fan. I enjoyed a walk around the lake when I was up there a few years ago but missed my path off the lake back to where I was staying. Had to retrace my steps and look for it :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good day!
ReplyDeleteI've heard parking is a hard thing to find there sometimes, but it looks like a pleasant place to rest, I usually get a crispy chicken wrap.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great change for a lunch... the parking really is an issue - a lot of folk from here take the health shuttle now for appointments at Waikato, due to the parking issues.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
