It was a simple meal of pork steaks and roasted vegetables, but we finished with style and had Brandy Snaps for dessert.
The weather today and yesterday has been wonderful, with blue skies and temperatures up in the mid-teens (Celsius!).
It's great for airing out the house and getting the washing dried.
I spent most of my day packing and getting organized for a few mother-daughter days away.
We leave tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it.
Margaret xx
That desert looks delish! Have a great week
ReplyDeleteI hope you two have a wonderful time together.
ReplyDeleteThe Brandy Snaps look so good but probably hard to get round? The recipe calls for the hot cookie draped over a wooden spoon. But that wouldn't make them round.
The one time I tried making them, they were rolled around (not draped over) the wooden spoon handle. These ones were bought - they weren't perfectly round, more cone shaped. I don't how they do them commercially. Still delicious, though :)
DeleteHope you have a wonderful holiday break with your daughter
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like so much fun...have a great time.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every minute. Precious time indeed.
ReplyDeleteMmmm brandy snaps with whipped cream . Delicious. Have a simply wonderful time together
ReplyDeleteI had the job of piping the cream into them - fiddly!
DeleteI thought the dinner sounded really good and that dessert looks delicious! Have a great mother and daugther trip!
ReplyDeleteThe brandy snaps look great, I have not heard of them! Have a fun time away with your daughter!
ReplyDeleteThey are very crunchy and inclined to shatter in all directions when you take a bite LOL. We usually pipe the cream into them some hours before needed so they will soften a bit :)
DeleteMargaret, I am so envious of your brandy snaps. I have just added them to my shopping list. Whether I can get the brandy snap shells in Stornoway when it's not Christmas I shall soon find out. In theory our outside temperature is also in the mid teens but the fierce wind makes it feel very much colder indeed.
ReplyDeleteAvailable here all year round - I hope you manage to find some :)
DeleteHave fun on your trip. I'm praying for nice weather and safe travels. God bless you and your daughter. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a wonderful meal, Margaret, not just the food, but also the family time - does Mittens approve of your trip away?
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
No she doesn't! LOL
