But today we have had the odd burst of sunshine.
With lots of showers still hanging around, I have seen five separate rainbows today (one was a double).
They appeared when the sun shone as well as during rain showers.
I dodged raindrops to buy my normal Tuesday groceries.
The treat for today was a chocolate eclair.
I also bought some Drunken Woman lettuce seedlings and got them planted up in a pot.
Keep smiling 😃
Margaret xx
Oh good for you with the lettuce. We were just saying last night we might have to plant tomatoes this year with the price they are just now.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're getting some sun today, my son and his wife are in your city for a few days and I hoped it would be nice for them :)
I hope they managed to dodge the showers, as some of them were fairly heavy. The weather was nice between them though :)
DeleteHi Margaret, that is a lot of lovely rainbows to see in one day, you are so lucky. It has been raining here most of the weekend and still more today. The eclair you bought looks yummy, you deserve a treat after shopping in the rain! I hope we get better weather soon. Have a great week. Hugs, Rose x
ReplyDeleteI saw another rainbow just before sunset, so a grand total of six today!
DeleteChocolate eclair! Now that is something I can buy here and sometimes do. Delicious!!!
ReplyDeletePS Drunken women lettuce? What a name
ReplyDeleteAs they grow they develop very frilly outer edges that turn a deep bronzy-red. Quite pretty and not at all drunk!!
DeleteThat eclair looks delicious. It has been years since I had one. That is amazing that you saw that many rainbows.
ReplyDeleteSo many rainbows! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of grocery shopping – so having a treat afterward is something I might have to start doing as well! Rainbows are always so pretty, and the lettuce name made me laugh-I would like to have that job it always seems like plants or paint colors have fun names!
ReplyDeleteNo pots of gold then? Drunken Woman?? lettuce?? Strange name but I guess we live in a generation of strange names. Any idea how they resemble a drunken woman?
ReplyDeletePerhaps it refers to her frilly/blousy/ruffled edges? I believe it is an Italian heirloom, so the other option is it may be a corrupt translation? Your guess is as good as mine LOL.
DeleteThere was a wonderful rainbow here too, yesterday afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI love a chocolate eclair also - there is one cafe in town that makes the most devine ones... they sell out every day!!
Blessings
Maxine
