Capitol Reef NP, Utah

Today is my 200th post (I am still a Baby Blogger!) and to celebrate I thought I would do a photo essay.

My daughter took my husband and I to visit Capitol Reef National Park in Utah, USA,  in July 2014, and we loved it.

We visited one afternoon between thunder storms, and there were very few people around.  It was a magical and enchanting experience, with changing atmospheric light and the beautiful colours in the landscape.

I recall it as being one of my favourite places that I have visited J

  4. Very majestic and beautiful, so different from NZ.The first time that I travelled deep inland, actually in North India, I started to have a panic attack at being so far from the ocean. I just didn't feel safe.

  8. Congratulations on your 200th post!
In 2007 we traveled to Zion NP, also Bryce and the Grand Canyon. I can't remember if we saw Capital Reef or not. We were so amazed by all that we saw that it was almost overwhelming. We traveled in our RV and with another couple ( friends of ours) in theirs. It was a quite a trip. We would find deserted spots to stay for the night and continue on the next day. I'm glad we went when we did because the husband of that couple has passed away some years ago and we ourselves don't travel any more. We watch the videos.

    1. I've been to Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon as well. They are all such amazingly beautiful places, like nothing that we see in New Zealand (our landscape is also beautiful, but very different). I'm glad you got a chance to enjoy them when you did :)

  11. Journey of a 1000 miles starts with a single step. The vastness of some places is mind-blowing isn't it.

  12. Margaret imagine driving in between those stunning mesas! These landscapes reminds me so much of the Cars movie! Love these views and I feel grateful that you have to see it and for you to share these for us! Your daughter must have been so proud to bring you and your husband on such an unforgettable trip!
