THE GRAPE VINE HAS LOST ALL ITS LEAVES.
FLOWER BUDS ARE APPEARING ON THE POLYANTHUS.
AND THE MEYER LEMONS ARE TURNING GOLDEN YELLOW.
IT WAS VERY PEACEFUL IN THE GARDEN THIS MORNING.

HEADER PHOTO JUNE 2024
This photo is of the Champagne Pool at Wai-o-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, Rotorua. The photo was taken on my last visit there, in 2012, when my favourite sunhat was blown from my head and settled on the steaming acidic waters before slowly sinking from sight.
That lemon tree is so full of lemons that if I didn't know better I'd say it was a fake.
ReplyDeleteYour polyanthus look very healthy. Mine bloom in Spring but yours bloom in Autumn?
They are one of our winter-flowering plants - one of the benefits of living in a temperate climate :)
DeleteYour lemon is ahead of ours.
ReplyDeleteChampagne Pool sounds.. stylish. So your hat had a flamboyant ending. Oh, I lost one loved hat on the ferries wheel. Maybe they meet somewhere in hat-heaven ;-)
ReplyDeleteLOL I never thought of a place called Hat Heaven!!
DeleteWintery grape vines! Ours are so green now. And the lemons are almost finished. Enjoy your winter bounty!
ReplyDeleteViolets are just so pretty...even the leaves are pretty. I like that view looking down the fence...
ReplyDeleteYou have a bounty of lemons. Is there marmalade in your future?
ReplyDeleteI used to make Grapefruit Marmalade but that hasn't seemed to happen in the last few years.
DeleteI too am surprised to see things blooming in autumn there. Love that thermal spring, they are always so interesting.
ReplyDeleteWe are fortunate with our climate in that we can have something blooming in the garden all year round.
DeleteOk is it just New Zealand lemons - those look enormous compared to ours! Time for lemon bread, lemonade, lemon squares - heaven!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful garden Margaret - and I love as some plants become dormant, others are starting to come to life.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pity about your sunhat :(
Blessings
