RENOVATION WORK IS PROGRESSING ON THE HISTORIC MUSEUM BUILDING.
AFTER A SPOT OF SHOPPING, WE WENT FOR A WALK AROUND KUIRAU PARK, A MID-CITY GEOTHERMAL AREA THAT IS FREE TO VISIT.
THERE WERE TWO FOOTBATHS AVAILABLE TO USE. THE HOT MINERAL WATER LEFT MY FEET FEELING SILKY SMOOTH AND I FELT QUITE RELAXED AFTERWARDS.
THERE WERE MANY DIFFERENT SCULPTURES SCATTERED AROUND THE PLACE.
LUNCH WAS A GOURMET PATRICK'S PIE, EATEN IN THE CAR BESIDE THE LAKE. A THERMOS OF HOT TEA MADE THE PERFECT ACCOMPANIMENT.
THERE WERE MANY MORE BIRDS OUT ON THE LAKE.

A wonderful day out Margaret - I have never really explored Kurau Park, and must do so on my next trip - thanks for the post showing parts that I did not know existed, especially the footbaths

Do that Maxine, you will enjoy it. Sometimes you need a towel to sit on as the seat can get wet - and I definitely needed a person there to help me stand up again!
DeleteSomething we used to do when I lived in The Puke. The hot bath must have been wonderful for chilly toes. And followed by a pie. Heaven 😃
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post...enjoyed all the pics, and love the 5th one down. A foot bath sound relaxing.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great outing, Margaret. The second photo is a keeper.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I like the look of the pie!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun day in an interesting spot!!
ReplyDeleteIt’s really cold here today in Melbourne so a foot soak in a hot mineral pool would be lovely
ReplyDeleteYour pie made my mouth water Sounds so very yummy indeed
I didn't know you could soak your feet in the footbaths at Rotorua. last time we were there we never saw these, next time I'm up that way I'll check then out.
ReplyDeleteHot Springs are great, I miss those. 17C here. In "summer"... gah.
ReplyDeleteA foot bath sounds pretty darn relaxing right about now. Made me think of those foot bath places that have fish that nibble on your toes, you should try one of those!
ReplyDeleteHaha, that would be hilarious considering I'm ticklish :))
