As we head into winter, we often have a fire in the evenings.
Son does this, and has a set routine he follows.
First, gather your firewood.Set the fire.
Add a little ignition help.
Use a lighter to get things going.
And then it's time for me to sit back and enjoy the blaze!
After years of being chief fire maker, fire maintainer, and fire cleaner, it is nice to let someone else do all the work 😀

Wish I could come sit by the fire and us visit....there is nothing better than sitting by a fire with a friend.
ReplyDeleteVery true :) xx
DeleteLove an evening by the fire! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt makes the evening very snuggly cozy :)
DeleteIt might be cheaper than gas or electricity
ReplyDeleteBecause we have to buy in our firewood there is not much cost difference, but we find it warms the house much better than using heaters (the whole house instead of one room).
DeleteIt's such a chilly day here ( in spite of us being just a week away from the first day of Summer) that I'd love to come sit with you and enjoy the blazing fire. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteI hope you start getting some warmer summer weather soon xx
DeleteWe'd been in a house with central heating for 15 years and moved to one without.... oh boy, did I notice the difference! I would just be feeling snug and warm, only to realise I needed to put another log on the fire! I was so relieved when we bit the bullet and got more central heating! It's so easy.
ReplyDeleteThat would probably be my preference now too, if I had to tend the fire myself :)
DeleteI love a fire and enjoy lighting it as well. Good exercise getting up and down. I lit our fire first thing this morning although we let it burn out after a short while. It was chilly and looking at the neighbours' lawn looked like a light frost.
ReplyDeleteWe had an icy wind all day but no frost :)
DeleteWe had a small fire here yesterday to take off the chill...Unheard of up here, in June!!!
ReplyDeleteI hear your warm weather is soon to arrive - with a vengeance! Hope you cope okay :)
DeleteI loved a fire, but with age, the convenience of the heat pump has won out....
ReplyDeleteBlessings
