Like so many around the world, we watched as BBC broadcast
live the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
It made for a late night – we never went to bed until 4.30am
– but I am glad I was able to see this and feel like I was participating in
some small way.
Margaret.
Rest in Peace
Queen Elizabeth II
1926 - 2022
I watched part of it. Quite the funeral!
ReplyDeleteWe watched it last night after recording it this morning, I wasn't going to stay up most the night for it. I'm interested to see how Charles handles being King from now on.
ReplyDeleteWe recorded the Queen's funeral but I also watched parts of it during the day in between running around getting usual Monday chores done. The funeral was so moving, so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGosh, Margaret, you have more stamina than I do. I thought I was doing well to stay awake till mid-night. You caught some great moments!
ReplyDeleteOn the saddest of days, I am so proud of United Kingdom, it was spectacular.
ReplyDeleteWow staying up until 4:30am! I hope you were able to get a good sleep after that. Thank you so much for sharing these captures Margaret! Rest in Peace Queen Elizabeth II
ReplyDeleteA spectacular funeral . The British do it so well. I watched most of it on BBC . A long watch. A few sniffles. Good luck to Charles
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos!
ReplyDelete- what a sad day -
ReplyDeleteThe funeral was very moving. I've never watched TV for as long as yesterday and I'm just as touched today.
Thanks for your pictures and a hug to you.
Yes, it was on TV here, too. I kinda doubt Charles can really fill in...
ReplyDeleteVery moving, every day. The British do know how to uphold tradition, it was amazing.
ReplyDeleteNothing to do with this post, Margaret, but I think this will make you smile (I hope your version allows code).
ReplyDeleteFirefighters freeing a wild rat, so nice and cute! x
That is so sweet. Sometimes it is easy to forget that rats are animals too, just like cats and dogs, and sometimes need the help of humanity.
Delete🥰 I was thinking of your Son´s pet-rats. So cute.
DeleteWonderful screen shots you captured Margaret - we (still in Cambridge with family) watched until mid-night, and then picked up in almost the same spot we left off the next afternoon, so we saw it all in the end.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
