I woke this morning to 100% humidity and the sun streaming
into my room through a chink in the curtains.
I knew we had a thunderstorm watch for the afternoon, so I thought I’d
keep an eye on the clouds.
This is what they looked like at breakfast time.
By lunch time the humidity had dropped to 55% and it was 26
degrees (78.8 F) and there was little sun around.
Move onto 3 o’clock and it started to rain, but no thunder.
Now, it is two hours later.
The rain has gone, it is mostly cloudy but the sun shines through
occasionally. Humidity is now 77% and
our temperature is 22 degrees (71.6 F).
Mittens is not impressed!
I am planning on garlic prawns and noodles for dinner
tonight – easy and fast to cook in the wok.
I suppose I should really add some vegetables as well LOL.
Keep smiling 😊
Margaret.
Poor Mittens! We have finally got a version of winter - temperature below 10 degrees C. Tigger equally unimpressed. F delighted. Rain yesterday, sun today and Mr T thinks F should clean the salt off the windows. Enjoy the fan Mittens. xxx 😽
ReplyDeleteThe fan ruffles my fur LOL 😻
DeleteYes, that will be a fine dinner and some vegetables are always good ... you had a beautiful blue in the morning sky, we had a lot of gray skies, but also snow and that is good because the bushes in the garden and the trees in the forest are so look wonderful ... and there are lovely walks in the woods.
ReplyDeleteGreetings to you Viola.
Your woods sound like a winter wonderland, Viola. Enjoy their beauty :)
DeleteIt certainly was revoltingly hot and humid this morning! I'm loving our evening temperatures.
ReplyDeleteSo am I :) I leave the windows open as long as possible, until I can't stand the bugs flying in anymore :)
DeleteHot, humid, rain but no thunder here either Margaret... like you I leave the windows open until late
ReplyDeleteStay safe
Blessings
Maxine
Hello M,
ReplyDeleteYour first sky shot is beautiful. I am glad Mittens was not bothered by the storm. Your dinner sounds delicious! Take care, have a happy new week!
Our cats are snuggled in their baskets, next to a huge radiator, close to our patio doors, where they keep an eye on our garden. Cats get the best life.
ReplyDeleteI think it is something cats specialize in :))
DeletePerhaps the rain was very welcome. As for the prawns and noodles it sounds delicious. We have two woks and use them two or three times a week.
ReplyDeleteI'm not keen on thunderstorms because they often knock out the internet! Thanks for the idea. I shall have a stirfry tonight. I've no prawns handy but I do have some chicken breasts and plantry of frozen atirfry veg and sauces.
ReplyDeleteWe barely get peeps of the sun these days...I should be thankful for them even. We did not see it yesterday, and today is not likely either with the way things are going. I am like Mittens...not impressed.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness the humidity is better. Heat and humidity just turn you into a limo rag.
ReplyDeleteLove the sound of your dinner.
All that humidity! I wilt. I feel like I "can not breath". I am happy for my cold winter temps right now. -smile-
ReplyDeleteDo you use any form of air conditioning? We have 2 wall units. They take care of our downstairs, were we live now. (Moved bedroom downstairs to save climbing up and down steps, and it is wonderful.)
We do not turn them on till it gets *bad.* We have screens on windows and doors, and love to let the air move. Around noon, with sun overhead, in summer, we often have to put A/C on. And close up.
I can't stand bugs in the house, so screens are necessary. Plus!!! Bugs seem to love me and find me. -sigh- I am *helpful* outside, as I am a bug magnet. Others will not be bothered, because they love me! -sigh-
I also get that "can't breathe' feeling - it is like the air gets so heavy there isn't any oxygen left in it.
DeleteWe don't have A/C in the house but I do have it in the car - brilliant when it has been sitting locked up in the sunshine for a while :)
The weather can change quickly. The sky in the morning looks so blue and nice. We have had some days with clear blue sky, but it has been cold, -7 C at day, and -13 C at night. Our cat, Iris, will hardly go out because of the cold. Don't need a fan here :)
ReplyDeleteIris must be a Cat With Sense :)
DeleteI admit, I love a good thunderstorm (as long as I am safe and dry) but I know how destructive a storm can be. I had shrimp and noodles for my Christmas dinner, which I didn't actually get to cook until New Years.... long story!
ReplyDeleteWhat I wouldn't give for some temperatures in the 20's and some sunshine right now. Sounds lovely but maybe the humidity makes it seem less comfortable.
ReplyDeleteGarlic prawns, noodles and some vegetables!
ReplyDeleteSounds a good dinner :)
All the best Jan
You can’t blame Mittens with that humidity. I never use noodles but it’s a great idea.
ReplyDeletewe've had a ton of humidity here too, especially having the ceiling fan on at night.
ReplyDeleteLove your early morning blue sky image but the change is written there in the clouds, isn't it. I do so wish I could learn how to read the clouds like my grandfather could.
ReplyDeleteSome weather you have - never gets boring! Unlike here - grey, grey, grey, cold.
ReplyDeletePretty blue sky with summery clouds...I hate the gray:(
