Lifting Carpet

I stripped my room bare this morning so that the boys could move the furniture and lift up the old carpet.

Thankfully, underneath is varnished chipboard so it was easy to vacuum up the dust that had accumulated over the last forty years.  (So gross!)

I took advantage of the bare bedroom  by vacuuming clean my mattress.  I used to do this every 6-12 months, but it has been a couple of years now since it was last done.

For breakfast this morning I made up a Breakfast Bowl with a Middle Eastern flair.  Chopped egg, cucumber and  tomato were placed on a base of Greek yoghurt, some chickpeas were added, then a sprinkle of za'atar spice and a drizzle of olive oil to finish it off.

It tasted surprisingly good and kept me going until lunchtime.
Wishing everyone a happy day,
Margaret xx

  1. You had a full day and accomplished a lot. I love it when I get things done.

  2. Your breakfast bowl looks delicious…nutritious and filling. If I eat eggs in the morning, I don’t snack during the day so eggs are on the breakfast menu.

  3. A lot of work, but it feels good to get things all freshened up once the work is done. And oh, that breakfast looks really good - I bet those toppings would be terrific on a salad as well. I'll have to try it - enjoy the day, well, I guess it's night there!

  4. I do this with our mattress too, I think it's wise if you think about dust mites and skin particles etc.

  6. I look forward to seeing what you chose for your new carpet! Your breakfast looks very exotic to me but I'm not at all adventurous when it comes to food. Or anything else, really. GM
