This photo may not show it that well, but most of today we
have been having horizontal rain. As if
that isn’t bad enough, the strong wind has an icy bite to it that sends one
rushing back inside if you dare poke a nose outdoors.
One of our neighbours has had to brave it though, as extra
strong wind gusts have been lifting one of the panels on his verandah roof and
he had to tie it down.
The blue thing is a hose - no watering plants needed in this sort of weather though! |
It is getting dark early and we have lit the fire to keep
the house warmer.
The two cats have been funny. They both dislike getting wet (like most
cats) and won’t head outside unless absolutely necessary.
But they still have energy to burn off, and this results in them
turning the hallway into a racetrack. The
noise is akin to a herd of baby elephants!
It always amazes me that a cat can be so delicate and quiet
when it wants, and then deliberately be able to make excess noise by somehow thumping
their paws down harder on a surface.
Time now to go and make some dinner,
Margaret 😊
What horrible weather - hope it calms down soon.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds wonderful! Rain beating down and a cosy fire. Heatwave here. The grass is always greener .....after a rainy day lol
ReplyDeleteI can just picture the cats zooming up and down the hallway!
ReplyDeleteYour weather sounds like ours less a few degrees! Rain seems to be the norm this summer but no wildfires here!
ReplyDeleteWe had horizontal rain, too. The coal we have under the balcony table, that never got wet was dripping! There were weather warnings in the news, yet many people left their cars in deep garages. And now hence have no car...
ReplyDeleteFun with the cats! 😹😻
Stay inside weather to be sure.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the same sort of weather we have been having. I have 1 knitting and 1 crochet project plus one half read book on the go, so have plenty to keep me busy indoors out of the wind and rain. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteThe A/C is blowing on me as I look at your wintery rain. We're in the middle of a summer heat wave while you're having to deal with winter's worst. Stay warm and dry if you can. Granny M
ReplyDeleteStay warm! The moisture is good as many places are in a drought!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't get the rain as you did, but we certainly have had an icy wind for the past couple of days... it seems to make the day colder than the thermometer says it is!
ReplyDeleteMy boy doesn't like going outside much in this weather, either, but takes off when the kitten (belonging to the family) gets too boisterous. And the kitten sounds heavier on his feet than my 5kg boy!!
Blessings
Maxine
It's been much the same here, some really icy days and nights but this week it seem to be a lot milder.
