FRESH PINEAPPLE - imported, but on special this week. I love it with natural unsweetened yoghurt (the stuff that's chock full of lots of gut-loving bacteria!)
MANDARINS - the first ones for the season, and they're sweet and juicy!
APPLE CRUMBLE - stew up 4 large apples. Mix 1/2 cup sugar with 1 cup flour then rub in 2oz butter. Spread over apple. Bake 180 degC for 25 minutes.
not sure why but pineapples are imported here too and cost merely £1 (NZD2) so we eat a lot of them. They are good in lentil salad with a curry flavoured dressing (yep, I know, Weird, but curry and pineapple are a marriage just made for each other)
I love that yoghurt with fruit as well!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. That second one is like a still life!
ReplyDeleteyum! The good thing about Autumn is all the fruit, I'm waiting for our lemon trees to start fruiting but they are looking good so far.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the recipe - mmmm! I really need to eat more fruit - I like the idea of pineapple and yogurt- I’ll be sure to try it!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try your crumble recipe, I can stew the fruit but I can never get the crumble right.
ReplyDeleteYum! Fresh pineapple is always good, and the other sounds delicious, too.
