Crackers with cheese and some kind of relish. This has become my standard mid-morning snack
(sometimes I add a piece of fresh fruit as well) and seems to be doing the
trick.
My doctor wanted me to eat smaller meals more frequently and
so that is what I have been trying to do.
It isn’t easy!
Old habits die hard, and I have found it difficult to eat
less for my main meals and increase my daytime snacks. But the results are showing the effort is
worthwhile, and my digestive system is coping much better.
Not that you want to hear too much about my digestive
system!!
Our weather continues to be typical springtime. From gale force winds and rain overnight,
today it is much calmer and the sun is even shining at times. Tomorrow morning, they are forecasting
near-frost temperatures for us.
Nature takes it all in her stride. The birds continue nesting (the sparrows have
fledged now) and the plants and lawn are growing apace.
Keep smiling 😊
Margaret.
I'm glad the new way of eating is helping. No doubt your body will get used to eating that way.

Hi Margaret, sorry to hear that you are having health problems. It's good that your new eating regime is working. It must feel strange to have your meal portions altered like that, but it sounds like it is well worth it. We had a gloriously sunny day here today, yet two days ago we were having hailstorms! Yes, Spring is definitely here. Hugs, Rose x
ReplyDeleteBone china teacup and plate on a tatted doily - exactly the things I love and use everyday. I can relate to the eating regime, too - cheese and biscuits prescribed rather than my preferred single sweet biscuit. Oh well!
ReplyDeleteThe doily was a gift from a dear (now departed) friend who loved to tat. Not many seem to do it these days :)
DeleteIf your digestive system is feeling better then you're on the right track. Keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteGreat to have found a meal regimen that works for you, Margaret. Continued good luck with it! Efore long you’ll be in the spring and summer sun!
ReplyDeleteIt must be nice to be told (and encouraged) to snack between meals. I have spent years trying to stop my OH from doing just that - to no avail - but then he eats total junk for snacks; even if I leave healthy options all over the place he will go out and buy ultra-processed rubbish to shovel down his neck.
ReplyDeleteOh dear :(
DeleteVery sensible. your blood sugar can get low during the day so this is a great idea. Hope you feel better.
ReplyDeleteI hope the new food plan helps you feel better...if you're like me, I don't like change, it would be hard. Thanks for your example...things I need to do that are good for me, but I drag my feet about doing - I'll remember you're leading the way!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty tea cup and plate!
ReplyDeleteWell done - and so wise of you to present it for yourself on such lovely china. I hope you find you're adjusting and feel the good effects so you're encouraged to continue. My downfall is not preparing well, so I get to the "I have to eat NOW, and I don't care what" stage. Then what I should do, and what I do do become separated!!
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling!! Now I try and organise what I am eating at the start of each day, or at least know what I am going to have :)
DeleteWell done on your changes, Margaret, and I am sure there will be more benefits to come in your health.
ReplyDeleteWe had a frost here today, and are forecast one for tomorrow as well. I'm late to comment thanks to a migraine attacking me late yesterday.........
Blessings
Maxine
That's no good Maxine. I hope you are feeling better again now xx
DeleteWhile you are experiencing the last of your frosts, we had the first of ours. I bet you are so looking forward to everything greening up, birds singing and flowers blooming.
ReplyDeleteSee. Some say... 3 meals a day other the body blablabla...
ReplyDeleteYours looks yummy and as it works, perfect - for body and mind and soul :-)
Mild weather here.
At the rest home that my mother lived at for her last 9 years, they always had crackers with tomato relish and cheese for morning tea. I liked to time my visits for morning tea time.
