It looks like I have taken a totally unscheduled break from
blogging. It wasn’t really my purpose to
do so, but things have been happening in the family this last week and I never
felt much like writing a blog.
We are all okay, and the issues are all things that can be
sorted out and worked through. Every
family seems to have rough patches at times – I mean, look at England’s royal
family, even they are not exempt!
It was a lovely morning today, weather wise, so I made a spur of the moment decision and headed over the Kaimai Range to Mt Maunganui and Papamoa. I miss the beach, with its white sand and blue ocean, but there seemed to be so many people around that it was difficult to sit and enjoy nature.
I did take a walk along the harbour beach though, paddling
in the clear water until I saw the dark shadow of a stingray glide past about
two metres away from me. I know they are
plentiful in the harbour but I haven’t seen one so close to shore before.
It was nice to be able to get out for the day – something I really
appreciate that we can still do, unlike so many places around the world.
I hope everyone is keeping well,
Margaret 😊
Oh I wish I could go to the sea again!
ReplyDeleteWe can’t go further than 30 km and the sea is at 70 km from home.
I love your pictures, makes me dream!
There are times when what's happening in our lives that make us less inclined to do a blog post.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we're just busy. I hope you can find beaches to visit that are less crowded. There's nothing like a solitary walk in nature ( especially in Fall).
I hope all your family issues resolve quickly. It sounds a perfect day out.
ReplyDeleteYou are right - there's no such thing as a 'perfect' family. I hope yours can work through the problem/s. We need to go up to Napier for my brother's funeral, and accommodation anywhere in the Bay is IM-POSS-IBLE. .. unless you want to spend $400 a night! I guess everyone is trying to get a break in the warm before Winter really hits. As a result we're staying in Waipukerau coming and going. It will break the journey for us, and reduce the stress, as we get used to the joys of our new EV.
ReplyDeleteHope all is sorted soon.
Hope your journey is a safe one. Take care, Mxx
DeleteIt will be alright in the end. If its not alright its not the end. Don't know where we heard it... Those views and some communing with nature are always good therapy. Best Wishes. F & Mr T
ReplyDeleteI 'd like to thank you for lovely pictures overlooking sea,I wish you the best and a lot of joy and health for your family, greetings from anna frm Warsaw
ReplyDeleteA deserted beach with space to roam and explore is a wonderful place - a crowded beach not so much!
ReplyDeleteI would really enjoy that beach! Gorgeous views. Yes, all families go through spots where everything seems a bit off kilter but usually rights itself.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to get out for a walk and see beautiful nature when things are difficult. I hope things will be better soon.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the troubles. Hope they are all sorted out, very soon. Then, think how lovely it will be, to be able to settle in again, without that, on your mind. -smile-
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely place to be able to 'escape' to! I miss the beach and ocean. Every Sept., we used to go over to Cape Cod and sit on the sand and listen to the ocean, etc. It was wonderful. But since my husband's eyesight has deteriorated, and I no long drive on "big roads," we have not been able to go. But we have memories. -smile-
I am so happy you can go such places. We can too, go places to walk.
I do not follow stupid rules. Like, we do not wear masks, walking in the fresh air!!!!!! There is plenty of room, to not be near any other walkers. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY do people wear masks, in the fresh air in the Great Out Doors??????
Sorry, rant over. >,-)

What a gorgeous beach. How fortunate you live near enough so you can enjoy time by the sea.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos. Those are the places I would go to. Used to go and sit on papamoa beach to find peace. Pity there were too many people around when you visited.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful beach. And the colour of the sea is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to enjoy. The blue sky and water so peaceful. Hope family matters get sorted out - yes, nothing is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed your day out. Sometimes a break and bit of fresh air can really help us when things weigh heavily upon us. Hope your worries lighten soon.
ReplyDeleteYou don't need to apologise for having a blogginb break, sometimes we all need to. Having lived in Tauranga for 3 years I an say that Mount Maunganui beach and Pilot Bay sure are lovely spots.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteLove the views of the beach! So pretty, I would love to take a walk there. Blogging breaks are necessary, at times things are not always perfect. Take care, have a happy day!
Preciosas fotografías de la playa. Espero que todo bien. Besos.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful spot to just sit!
ReplyDeleteHope that things have picked up with you, Margaret The Mount is so nice to go to. I had many happy times with my children, there when it was just a small seaside place. When I go to my son's home just out of Matamata, it is so peaceful being away from Auckland, and in those moments - I don't want to drive over the Kaimai's to get to the sea!!.
ReplyDeleteMt Maunganui holds a very special place in my life in New Zealand and my journeys over the Kaimais were always interesting.
ReplyDeleteHope your family problems are resolved. Always love to see pictures of your landscapes. So beautiful. B x
ReplyDeleteDo hope things have been sorted.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photographs you've shared.
All the best Jan
