Crystal Rainbows

At 11.59pm tonight we will move out of the very restrictive Level 4 lock-down into the restrictive Level 3 lock-down.   This will allow many people to return to work (under strict conditions), but for myself it will make little difference.

We are to stay in Level 3 for two weeks and then hopefully reduce to Level 2, at which stage I will be ready to head out to the shops again!

This morning, on the spur of the moment, I decided to change my bedroom around.  I didn’t quite get it finished but am happy with the results so far.

The day began with heavy fog but that cleared off mid-morning and we had a beautiful sunny day to enjoy.  I have a large crystal “star” (for lack of a better word) that I placed on the windowsill and it filled my room with rainbows.

Now we have a few flowers growing in the garden, I thought it might be nice to pick some occasionally – so today I cut a stem of stock to prettify my bedroom a little.

It was good moving things around – I found several Dust Bunnies (those little balls of fluff that accumulate in dark corners) and a couple of Hiding Spiders, so they have both been dealt with now.

All in all, it has been quite a successful day J
Margaret.

  1. To a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow :-)
Funny. You start to open up, we start to close down.

Well, my dust bunnies are strings! Why ever! I need to take care of the windows, too, but Hubby says, no! It´s too cold outside.
And I wonder. We do not smoke, yet dust from the inside!
    I want a rainbow! ;-)

  2. I love how clean and neat your bedroom looks like right now Margaret! It's very tidy but you have amazing accent pieces on it with that crystal star adding much color and character to your interior. My favorite is the Water Jar in the last photo that looks very precious and historical.

So happy and proud of NZ for lowering the level of alert and how the virus has already been contained, yet still continuing with safe measures. Very far from what is happening here in our islands. Stay safe my friend Margaret!

    1. Thank-you for your kind comments on my room - I never showed you the corner that still contains a couple of messy boxes of "stuff" LOL
I found that jar in a charity shop and fell in love with it. I don't believe it is that old - it just looks that way :)

  5. The sun came out today and its warm. I did lots of housework. Time to stack firewood outside instead of I side, take up carpets and mop some tiles and think about t-shirts....maybe

  8. Pretty star and rainbows. I did notice they were in each picture.
Rearranging our rooms is fun. By now I have so much 'stuff' that rearranging is difficult but since I like how things are it's okay. I have a hanging thing with cut glass prisms in a south window and that also gives me rainbows when the sun hits it.

    1. Your hanging thingy sounds pretty. I have a small crystal hanging in one window and that also makes little rainbows around the place :)

  10. The crystal star is gorgeous... I now want one! Like I need any more dust catchers. I am constantly trying to down size my ornaments and clutter. That fog the other day was horrible, but at least it cleared before 10!

    1. The crystal was given to me, and is still the only one I have ever seen. It does catch dust LOL, but I rinse it under the tap and put it in the sun to dry.

    1. I have a niece who collects them and she says the red ones are really hard to find. I actually bought in new, but that was about fifty years ago!
