A Foggy Cemetery

It was very foggy this morning as I made my way over to the cemetery to visit my husband’s grave.  The traffic was heavy as well, so it was prudent just to travel along slowly and not take any silly risks.  Thankfully, all the other drivers felt the same and the trip was made in safety.

It may be three years now since I was widowed, and I am finding the saying is true that “you never get over it – you just learn to live with it.”  I am so thankful that I got to spend nearly fifty years knowing my wonderful man (we were married for forty-five of them).

Memories are such precious treasures,

Margaret 😊

  1. I understand your feelings, not a day goes by without me missing my dear mum, she has been gone 16 years.

  2. Yes, memories stay with us no matter where we move to. It's a bit over four years since I was widowed, and it's not an easy road, this grief, and each of us grieves differently.
    Stay safe

  3. Please do not take this as being in any way disrespectful, but yes you can get over it. Many people remarry or form other partnerships and are very happy. I am living proof of that.

  4. Warm wishes to you for your visit day. The fog might be atmospheric but I hope it cleared and you got to share some sunshine before you left. xxx F & Mr T

  6. Wonderful that your memories are happy ones. Not every widow is so lucky.

We who are, or have had been married to a good man, are the luckiest of creatures. -smile-

  9. The cemetery shrouded in fog makes for a sombre picture. No doubt your visit to your husband's grave gave a sombre tone to your day as well. Take care, GM

  10. What a lovely photo. It looks peaceful. I have heard many widowed people say you just get through it not over it.

  14. I can't imagine finding another man like my late husband so I will be happy with my memories - sometimes it gets easier but other times not so much.

When there is fog here I shall cross the road a take a foggy cemetery photo to share as your photo is so good
