A Dizzy Spell

It is another hot summer’s day today – it makes for perfect early morning weather for hot air balloons!

As you can see, the balloon was at quite a distance from me

The garden is also enjoying the warmth, although it needs watering every night at the moment.  We are under water restrictions, so all watering is being done with a hand-held hose.

I love the colour of these Asters

A couple of years ago, I slipped over and ended up with a doozy of a concussion and a very sore big toe.  I recovered from the concussion and the toe was x-rayed but showed nothing wrong.

However, it still gives me pain and I cannot bend it at all so the doctor sent me for a further x-ray, which I had this morning.

I went to a different place today, and I must say their methods were much more professional than the place I originally went to.  They even had me in their records, as I went there 25 years ago after having a car accident!

The big problem was that after the x-ray I had a severe dizzy spell, which is not normal for me at all.  The lady sat me down and gave me a biscuit and a frothy milky hot chocolate until I felt better.

She was so nice, and thought it may have come about because of the strange twisting and turning required for the x-ray.  I have been feeling fine since, so I hope that is all it was.

Ice-cold smoothie is a crystal beer mug!

Lunch today was a sandwich, and a banana and boysenberry smoothie with lots of ice in it.  Then we have salad on the menu for dinner tonight – simple easy meals are the order of the day at the moment.

Whatever your plans for today, stay happy and stay safe 😊

Margaret.

  1. I can imagine how scary it must have been to have such a severe dizzy spell especially if you don't normally get such. Hopefully it's a once-off kind of event and you won't ever have another.

  2. Let's hope your dizzy spell was a one off, Margaret. Yes, the weather invites simple meals at the moment, doesn't it?

  3. I love your new header photo! Such beautiful scenery in your country! I pray your toe and concussion do not give you any further problems. I had a crazy thing happen to me yesterday with a shopping cart at the grocery store... and now have a very sore, swollen, bruised shin. It will get better on its own but doggone it hurts lol. You take care of yourself, Margaret!! Hugs!

  4. I hope you won't have any more dizzy spells, you may be right that it was the odd twisting and turning you did for the x-rays. I hope you find the right treatment for your very sore toe that won't bend. Enjoy your smoothie.

  5. Mittens, it wasn't you who made Margaret slip was it? Humans are strangely unbalanced creatures, but their height can be useful for reaching things sometimes. xxx Mr T

  7. Oh Margaret that dizzy spell would have been a bit un-nerving!! I am restricted to the local hospital for any x-rays, but have never had a problem, thankfully.
Yes, it is certainly salad weather, and my wee lettuces in the pot are being regularly attacked for greenery!
    Stay safe
    Blessings

  8. Doctors! It´s like playing for luck!
Glad that lady was so nice and wow, this does look yummy!
Good luck with that toe, my arm bugs me rather a little big at times these days.
Just need Hubby´s weeding ring to blog about that. We need to laugh, huh 😀

  9. Your new header is just wonderful, a truly stunning view. I hope you are still OK and the dizzy spell was just a one off, we all suffer from excess aches from old procedures as we get older.

  12. Most days we have a sandwich for lunch. It's pretty standard fare around here. Sometimes soup, sometimes a salad, but mostly a sandwich. The interesting thing is to vary the bread - that's what keeps a sandwich interesting.

  15. You didn't stand up too quickly did you? I say that simply because a friend occasionally gets dizzy if he stands up to quickly. Something to do with low blood pressure he's been told. Anyway I hope that it was a one off. Stay safe and enjoy your warm days and cool drinks.

  16. Hopefully it just was all of the twisting and turning. Your flowers look so beautiful

  17. Those asters are a fabulous colour. I'm liking your smoothie, I really should do that more but I've been having lots of cold water and lime juice.

    1. I'd forgotten about lime juice. I used to have that years ago and it was so refreshing. Will have to look for some.
