Good Friday

Today is Good Friday, considered by Christians to be one of the most important of all religious holy days.  It is dedicated to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, with Easter Sunday being the celebration of his resurrection.

The overall message of this time is love for humanity, and this is something that all people of any religious persuasion should be able to relate to.

Having love for our fellow man is one of the finer feelings a person can cultivate.  It leads to kindness and consideration, to care and generosity, to tolerance and patience.  It can bring peace to the world and the end of all suffering – if only we would let it.

May your life be filled with peace and happiness 💓
Margaret.

  1. We so need kindness and consideration right now. That's a beautiful beach scene. About making the masks. All was easy to do except to stitch the sides after the fold were pinned in. It is quite thick and my machine had trouble. In fact on the second mask I made the needle broke. I found a heavier weight needle in Mom's stash so I haven't broken it yet, but I'm also sewing slower and using the wheel by hand to move it through the heaviest spots. - Margy

  2. Have a good weekend. My old work colleages at NW have today off, Im pleased for them, no doubt the essential workers have been working very hard lately. Good to see our corona virus infection rate dropping isn't it?

    1. It is good to see it dropping, Amy. Hopefully it keeps doing so and we will be able to lower our lockdown level by the end of the month.
I think all supermarket staff will be glad to have today off after all the rush-buying going on again yesterday - I mean, the place is only shut for one day. Sometimes I just shake my head :)
Hope you and hubby have a great weekend, Mxx

  4. Amazing words Margaret and I am so happy that you remember Good Friday because fewer and fewer people do as time passes by. Good Friday is very important for us Filipinos especially Catholics. During this time we solemnly remember Christ's passion. And truly, your words about loving one's neighbor is very relevant nit just to what this day is all about but moreover to what our world need at the moment. Hope all the sacrifices of our doctors and nurses and janitors and policemen and grocery workers will pay off by hoping this virus will very soon be over. Sending you hugs from the Philippines and wishing you a meaningful Good Friday!

  11. There is a huge spike in antisemitism around the world, worshippers are killed in mosques, synagogues and churches, people are buying guns to protect their toilet paper, the Christian right gets ever more fanatical about and intolerant of people who do not follow their version of the truth, starving immigrants, little children among them, are denied entry to wealthy countries........yep, it's a good friday.

    1. (A touch of sarcasm there, David?)
Hatred and fear and suspicion and greed causes so much pain and suffering in our world - both to humanity and to our environment. If more people would let love and genuine caring into their hearts then these things would find no place in our lives.

    1. Our Prime Minister has officially stated that the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy are both essential workers! But I don't think either of them will be visiting our house this weekend :)

    2. That's probably because they will be needed in so many other households this weekend. Hooray for ALL the essential workers, but of course the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy are at the top of the Most Important List!
